Greetings Mitsuri,
Thank you for your thoughtful question from Stillwater, Oklahoma. To give you a clear answer, if you complete Marine Corps boot camp, you would still be required to go through Air Force Basic Military Training (BMT) if you decide to switch branches.
The Air Force has its own training standards and generally does not allow recruits to skip BMT, even if they have already finished another branch’s boot camp. The only possible exception applies to those with over 24 months of prior active-duty service in another branch; in this case, you may attend a much shorter 10-day Air Force Familiarization Course instead of the full BMT. However, this is not guaranteed and depends on your service record and recruiter approval. So, in most cases, switching directly from Marine boot camp to the Air Force would still mean going through Air Force training.
I hope this clears things up, and I encourage you to speak with an Air Force recruiter if you’re seriously considering this path. They can provide the most accurate guidance based on your situation.
Best of luck on your journey!

Good Day Mitsuri!
Yes, you shall probably have to do BMT again!
Every branch of the United States military requires recruits to go through a version of basic military training, also popularly known as boot camp.
Marines in most circumstances (and other exceptions for other branches) get to bypass the boot camp of other branches and go straight to their MOS training instead. To repeat the boot camp sounds highly illogical, a waste of time, but each military specialty is regarded separately.
GOD BLESS!

You can switch over to the Air Force through an “in service” recruiter at the end of your first enlistment. So say you enlisted 4 years then 3 years in you would try and start the process. Now cross service recruiting can be tricky depending on the manning requirements of the Air Force so it’s not guaranteed and you may be reduced in rank. All of that to say generally the Air Force doesn’t make marines do boot camp again but sends them through and Air Force fundamentals course. The hurdle is that there is no immediate way to transfer.

I was in the Air Force then switched over to the Army via Operation Blue to Green. I did have to go thru a version of army boot camp when I made the change. This was in 2007-2009. I don't think Marines had to go thru boot camp again for the service.
