I did some of my training at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. They do, indeed have very strong programs in most all pediatric professions. However, there are many excellent programs, and you should not feel remotely upset if your education and training does not stop in Pennsylvania. Closer to your home, UCSF, UC Davis, Stanford, and many Southern California programs are also excellent.
Just concentrate on learning and enjoying the ability to help others.

Hi Yaritza,

If you want to become a pediatric nurse or a NICU nurse, you go through the same nursing education as everybody else. You need to earn at least an associates degree (ADN), but better a bachelors degree (BSN) from an accredited nursing school to become a registered nurse (RN). You then need to pass the NCLEX-RN exam and apply for licensing in your state.

Once you are licensed, you can apply to nursing jobs. Once you have some years of experience, you can aim for advanced certifications in pediatric nursing and neonatal nursing and NICU nursing. I left some links for you below.

If you want to go for a graduate degree, you can get a masters in neonatal nursing, e.g. at University of Pennsylvania.
