What major and job fits me?

I’m currently a high school student, the majors I’m interested in are business and computer science. Could you please give me some advice about which majors fit me in college. Also, I’m very confused about what job I can do if I’m interested in these majors. Additionally, my hobbies are fashion and sports.

Hello. Business is a good major if you enjoy working with people, solving problems, or thinking about how companies work. On the other hand, computer science is a strong choice if you like technology, coding, or building things like apps and websites.

If you're not sure which one fits you better, think about what you enjoy doing more. Do you like planning, organizing events, or selling things? If so, business might be the right path. But if you enjoy solving puzzles, learning how computers work, or trying out new software, computer science could be a better fit.

You can also consider combining both, some colleges offer double majors or special programs in business and technology, such as Information Systems or Tech Entrepreneurship.

In terms of careers, business majors can go into jobs like marketing, sales, management, or starting your own company. Computer science majors often become software developers, data analysts, or cybersecurity specialists. If you enjoy fashion, you could work in fashion marketing or build a fashion website or app. If you love sports, you could explore jobs in sports management or even develop sports-related software or games.

Thank you for your question. I am glad to know that you have a wide range of interest and hobbies.
Below are my suggestions:
1. There are many careers related to your interests, eg web developer, apps developer, financial analyst, business manager, human resources, fashion designer, sports journalist, coach, sports manager, etc. you can find out more online
2. Find out more on these careers and determine what you have interest
3. Speak to someone who are working in these careers. Seek guidance from your mentor, school career counselor, your parents, etc
4. Shortlist 1-2 careers you would like to pursue
5. Explore the entry criteria of relevant subjects in colleges
Hope this helps! Good luck!
May Almighty God bless you!

My biggest advice is trying it all! Take a Udemy or Linkeldn course to learn something and see if you find it interesting. Ask if your teachers or parents know people where you could shadow a day in their life. See if you can find an internship! The more you try, the more you'll discover what you like/dislike.

Also, a piece of advice I was given is trying to find something that intersects with what you like to do, what you are good at doing, and what pays well. Some mix of the three is what helps most people find enjoyment in their life and career.

Anecdote: when I was in high school, I made a cover letter and resume to send to local start-ups to find an internship. I used Linkedln to find the CEO/CTO's name and then guessed their email till I got it correct and asked if they would be willing to give a high school student an internship. I think I sent out ~100 emails, had 10-15 respond, got ~5 interviews and 1 company gave me an offer! I made good money that summer, got experience, and learned early what a career in tech looks like. Getting an eye into the world you want to join early ensures that you don't waste time/energy doing something you discover you hate (though any learning is valuable still in the long run).
