Work on communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and time management. They’re useful in every job. Then, learn basic digital tools or skills related to the field you’re interested in.

Good people skills (soft skills) never go out of style and are probably becoming more important these days than we'd like to admit. Listening (not simply hearing words but understanding what people are saying) and building relationships.
And with AI being integrated into nearly every aspect of our lives, familiarizing yourself with knowing how to use AI tools effectively, efficiently, and safely (and as a tool, not a replacement) is highly recommended.

There are many different skills you can do to improve as a candidate. Depending on what type of career you decide there will be varying skills required. When it comes to most jobs there are overlapping skills you can practice or learn more about which include communication skills, problem-solving, time management, teamwork, adaptability to situations and leadership to name a few. Improving as an overall person will help you when it comes to being a better candidate. Hope you are able to find something that interests you!

6. Identify your core values, like courage and compassion, and let them guide your actions.
7. Lead by example. Be the change you want to see, and others will follow.

1 Practice: each interview I did I felt more prepared for the next one. Practicing interviews can really help you solidify answering questions and have examples prepared for whatever they may ask. You can look up mock-interview questions and come up with your own answers, or practice with a family member/friend. This is really helpful for when they ask questions such as "what is a time you failed or missed a deadline" you won't have to think about it
