Hello, Glory !
Yes, it would be great if we could tailor make the specifications of the job we want, but it doesn't work that way. If you have never worked before, you'll need to gain an understanding about how employment works and one of the best things is to get into a Youth Employment Program. They will orientate you on how employment works.
Some of the employment programs in Queensland that you can apply to are Skilling Queenslanders for Work (via MatchWorks) for ages 16 to 19, Get Set for Work (via ICYS) for ages 15 to 19, Transition to Work (TtW) (via ETC) for ages 15 to 24, and there are youth employment services through Life Without Barriers, Mater Group, and the Queensland Government.
Your first job experience should be in person on site, not online because you are going to need supervision as well as the opportunity to hone your communication and interaction skills. Think about the interests you have and see if you can obtain a job connected to your favorite subjects. Working does not mean basing it on the money or working online or asking random people who don't know you for a job. The programs will guide you on how to go about getting a job so that it will go smoothly for you.
If you want cash in hand, consider doing garage sales and sell items that you and your family do not want anymore. You will have people come by and buy items and they will pay you for them that day. Ask your parents to help you with how to do a yard sale or find information online to know how to set up a yard sale and what it entails. See if someone will work with you the first time for free, maybe treat them to lunch. Research local regulations and requirements, as some councils may require permits or have restrictions on the days, hours, and number of signs allowed for garage/yard sales. Check with your local council to ensure compliance and apply for any necessary permits well in advance.
I hope this helps out for a start and I wish you all the best !

Hi Glory,
There are a few factors and options to consider. While Im a huge supporter of remote work, I also feel that in early in your career it might be a positive to be in an office environment atleast a few days a week to have the opportunity to build network and your career. With the career pathways, it would be based on what education or experience you currently have. If you are starting out and want to get an understanding of the space, you could consider learning a course or getting some hands-on experience. You could also consider a platform like airtasker if they have simple IT jobs that you feel confident that you can deliver. This is more ad-hoc but it could help with building skill and confidence in the field. Also depending on your work rights and capacity queensland has many options for job starters similar to what Glory has mentioned above.
Good luck with your start!

Hi Glory, Michelle and Anitha's responses are very good - build a network, gather hands on experience, in-person..... please re-read.. All jobs require skills - what skills do you have ? What do you like to do ? You will need to combine these two and target jobs which require/ need your particular skill set and interests. That may mean volunteering for experience, or working for minimal pay to get the required skills you seek. I would use your favorite LLM and list your skills and what you like to do and have the LLM recommend jobs based on your skill set. That list is not final, rather its the beginning of your search. Good luck in your search!
