Hello Ryan,
I’m a big believer in starting out in Community College, you can take most classes for just about every degree before deciding. Community College counselors are great for helping you to decide on a career. You can get an affordable Associate Degree in General Transfer while you are deciding. You will then be able to transfer to a University for a 4 year degree or be happy with one of the many careers offered at Associate level. Good Luck.

Hello Ryan,

It is completely normal to not understand exactly what you want to do in your life. There are many different things that I would suggest for you to do like writing down your goals, pick 2-3 different careers that interest you, do research on these interests and look for different jobs/opportunities. It will take time but you just need to keep exploring and believing that you will find something eventually. Best of luck to you!

Hi Ryan, You need to make a list of things you enjoy doing, even if they seem small or unrelated to a career. Think about what skills come naturally to you, whether it's problem-solving, helping others, being creative, or organizing tasks. This can give you clues about careers that might suit you.

Next, try to gain experience in different areas. You can do this by volunteering, doing internships, taking online courses, or even talking to professionals in fields that interest you. Real-life experience often helps you understand what a job is really like, beyond what you read online.

It is also helpful to talk to people about their careers. Ask friends, family, or mentors about what they enjoy about their work and what challenges they face. Their insights can help you see options you may not have considered.

Another useful step is to take career assessments or personality tests. These tools can suggest fields that match your strengths and preferences, giving you ideas to explore further.

Many people try different jobs before finding what fits. By exploring different options, reflecting on what matters to you, and gaining experiences, you can gradually discover a career path that feels satisfying and meaningful. All the best.
