Hello Amani,
Doing an internship has both advantages and disadvantages. Although it's not always necessary for job applications, it can offer many benefits that make you more appealing to employers.
Just like extracurricular activities help when applying to college, having an internship on your resume shows that you are willing to put in extra effort, learn more about your field, and gain practical experience. Internships also provide networking opportunities, which can be crucial in corporate or financial careers.

Thanks for reaching out, Amani!
While internships vary in importance across fields, I really encourage you to try for at least one during college. Here’s why:
- Work experience looks great on your resume.
- Gaining experience in your field shows you can apply what you've learned in school to real jobs.
- Internships can help you prove to employers that you're a strong candidate for future roles.
- Some internships offer good pay, even if they're short-term.
Wishing you the best in your journey ahead!
