Hi Kennedy,
Since you have been accepted into a pre-nursing program, it seems you are already on the right path to become a forensic nurse examiner.
In Georgia, to become a registered nurse, you need to earn an associates (ADN) or better a bachelors degree (BSN) in nursing and pass the NCLEX-RN exam. You then need to gain some experience working as a nurse.
To become a forensic nurse, additional training and certification is required. The Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) course takes about 40 hours and is offered by organization like the Georgia Forensic Nursing Network (GFNN) or some colleges and universities. In addition you need to take clinical training. I left some links to more information for you below.
I hope this helps! All the best to you!

HeyKennedy! 🌸 Congratulations on starting your pre-nursing program — that’s a great first step! I’m very excited for you!
To become a Forensic Nurse Examiner, you’ll first need to become a Registered Nurse (RN) by completing your BSN and passing the NCLEX-RN. After that, you can gain experience in emergency, trauma, or women’s health settings, since these areas often overlap with forensic work.
Next, you can take a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) certification course — that’s where most forensic nurses begin.
I hope this helps! Good luck on your journey!
