What is better cardiacvascular sonographer or OBGYN sonographer??

Im really interested in sonographer but im confused on what specialty i should pursue.

As Kathleen stated, initial studies in sonography will be the same. There are plenty of jobs in sonography for general ultrasound and for echocardiography. A lot of OB/Gyn physicians learn to do their own ultrasounds for most purposes, although one can learn to be an expert in just about anything, like fetal echo.
Don't worry yet about what specialty - learn and explore and see what feels right for you as you go.

In sonography school, there are usually two tracks: General and Echocardiography (Echo). General ultrasound typically offers more job opportunities and includes OB/GYN training. Pay is generally similar between the two tracks.

Hello, Hazel. "Better" is relative. Which is "better" depends on your interests. There are general courses that are required and clinical work before specializing, so you should have some time to determine which is more interesting and satisfying to you. There are a lot of other specialties, so I don't know if these are the two you've determined that are of greatest interest to you or not. But it might be wise to explore the filed more widely while you get the basic requirements completed.

Hello, in my opinion specializing in Cardiovascular vs. OB/GYN sonography are both rewarding career choices. I don’t think one is inherently better than the other. This is a question I’m afraid only you can answer. You have to ask yourself which one you enjoy learning more about and ultimately which one you would want to spend 40+ hours a week doing. They both have their pros and cons, however what one person may like or find enjoyable may not be what you like or find enjoyable. Finding true happiness is the key to a successful long term career. You could even give both a try, throw yourself in hands first and see which one feels right to you. Either way I’m sure you’ll make a great sonographer!
