How do I prepare to enter a STEM degree?
In regards to entering a STEM degree, what is the best way to prepare for classes? Any specific classes to watch out for? Furthermore, what about balancing mental health? Answers are greatly appreciated, thank you!

Hey Laurence, love that you're thinking proactively about this exciting next step of your life's/educational journey! One of the best things that helped me is to use my class time to get to know my peers and my college's peer tutoring systems or professor office hours. I will also say that there are often college counselors available who can help in your mental health journey too for times when the semester may feel like too much or support is needed. I have met lifelong friends from my time as an undergrad and postgrad student and even keep in touch with some of my professors who have helped me along the way through my education and beyond!
Something that can help break up the STEM course load too can be using those electives for some more interesting classes that can be a mental break. I took some mindfulness/art classes and sociology so you can talk to your academic advisors too about how to manage your semester when you register for classes.
All the best for this exciting step and remember it's your journey to own and trust in what you think feels right for your path! So excited for you!

Anyone aspiring for a STEAM degree should start with all science and math. Once you have the math foundation, you will be in a good place academically. Mental health?? Mental health should be practiced, STEM or not. Make sure to have a strong circle of friends and have confidence in yourself. Do not be afraid of asking for help. You've got this.
