Hi Zay,

Starting a business takes a lot of preparation and planning. You'll need to do some market research, decide what you want to offer (cocktail bar? wine bar?whiskey bar? food?), think about permits and licenses, find a building in a suitable location, secure financing etc.

It's absolutely vital to have a solid business plan, decide what you want to be and what you don't want to be and where your market is.

So, I would suggest that you start out by working at a bar or a restaurant to learn how the business works. One of you could be responsible for the drinks side and get trained in bartending, winetasting etc. The other one could be responsible for the food side of things and get culinary training. Both could use some education in hospitality management.

In the meantime you can develop your business plan and work towards the launch of your own bar.
