Nursing school demands a lot from you mentally, emotionally, and physically. It's also highly competitive. In the first two years, you'll complete prerequisite courses required by both the college and the School of Nursing. Aim for a B or higher in all these courses. Once you start nursing courses and clinicals, expect to study up to 40 hours a week. This includes exam prep and over 100 hours of clinical rotations, depending on your university and state. Managing your time between academics and personal life is crucial. Financially, you'll need to cover costs for books, uniforms, a stethoscope, and shoes. Working while studying is tough, and if you do, part-time is likely your only option. Nursing school is intense and challenging, and only the strongest make it through.
