To dental hygienists, what study methods did you utilize to prepare for tests And which courses were the most difficult?
As a first gen, I'm very nervous on what to expect for higher education. How did you manage your workload with outside life as a dental hygienist student?

Hello, future dental hygienist!
Here's a tip: create a study schedule and stick to it! You don't need to study every subject every day. For instance, dedicate an hour on Mondays and Wednesdays to Anatomy and Physiology.
Don't forget to take breaks and enjoy some fun activities along the way.
If I had to choose the toughest course, it would likely be pharmacology because of all the information. There are many drugs for one condition, and some drugs can be used for different purposes.
When it's time for your tests and boards, trust your gut. Believe in yourself and don't overthink. You've got this!

Always have a study schedule that is free from distractions. Set a time and stick to it. Recalling items and using older test questions helped me a lot.
The most difficult hygiene subject for me was perio due to all the strains of bacteria. I made up rhymes and used phrases to learn some things. If you have difficulty do not hesitate to ask for help early on in a class. A good instructor wants their students to succeed. This is not easy material so do not put off things until the last minute. Best of luck to you!
