What would be the best pathway to follow in order to become a coroner?

I have wanted to be a coroner for years now. However, I'm not exactly sure what to do in college. I'm going to major in biochemistry and I know I have to do residencies, but I'm lost beyond that. #Fall25

Thank you comment icon Hello Jordan! You inquire has gone through my weekly mail. You are my ideal mentor, because my expertise is in Finance. Although I have some experience as a cashier in a hospital in my home country which is Albania (near Mediterranean - Balkans). Universities often ask for high grades because they want students who can handle the academic challenges. But remember, grades aren’t the only thing that matters — motivation, extracurriculars, and personal growth also play a big role in your future success. The work in hospital is very dynamic and needs for sure a lot of empathy for others. Please keep reading my peer's advice. Blessing! Isida Mici

Martha D.’s Answer

Hi Jordan -
It is good that you are asking this question now so you have time to take the necessary steps. The first thing you should know is that requirements may vary by state. I put a link below to the requirements for your state, Colorado. For your state, it seems you need a relevant undergraduate degree (biochemistry would qualify) and certification from an approved program. I also put a link below to an article from Indeed.com about requirements and the career, in general.
I would also recommend checking with the career center on your college campus. They may have further information and contacts within the field for your use. Wishing you good luck!
