Should I pursue a career in Forensics if it is largely considered to be unscientific?
Hello, I am a freshman in community college, and I've been recently more intrigued in pursuing Forensics in school and as a career choice. I was feeling pretty good about it, but then after doing some more research online, it seems to be that most of what makes up Forensics is quite unreliable when it comes to actually applying science to criminal justice. Such as DNA analysis being unreliable, ballistics and things like threads from clothing being unreliable. I haven't looked much deeper into the reasoning for these claims yet, but I will say that they make me feel quite discouraged from pursuing a career that took a lot of thought to decide on. I still have time to change direction, but I would love to hear any possible advice about the validity of claims like this, and what I should maybe do going forward. Thank you in advance!
What is the best way to narrow an area of study in cybersecurity ?

I have been exposed to the vast potential that a career in computer science or cybersecurity could have but I have had trouble narrowing down a specific area of interest. I have also been told by some of my teachers and family that I have potential in specific areas so identifying which one is the best for me isn't easy. The Path to and Residency into Forensic Pathology?
Hi, this is my first time asking for any advice so bear with me. I'm a junior in high school and I'm very concerned about how residency and the process of becoming a forensic pathologist works. Currently I'm not really set on a specific career that I want as I'm passionate about a variety of interests but one thing I'm interested in is being a forensic pathologist. My only concern is that apparently after medical school, you don't even get to choose what residency you want? I'm specifically interested in being a forensic pathologist as it pertains to medicine but also... non-living patients lol. I'm not very passionate about public service jobs and I think I'd be very unhappy if I was put into a residency where a constant state of hospitality is expected (Not saying hospitality wouldn't be required as a forensic pathologist but definitely not as much). So, I'm very interested on how this would work!! Also, my school record is fine, but I don't think it really outshines anyone else. I have never received a grade under an A, but also I've only had one AP class (AP Eng Lang & Composition) and am currently only taking one math college class. I also don't do any extracurriculars. :c I feel like this could definitely hinder any process of me trying to get into a good college, so any advice and explanations would be so-so-so appreciated. :^)
How can you decide between pursuing criminal analyst or forensic psychology as a career path when you are interested in both and mainly criminology.
I’m confused about my career path. I know I want to pursue a Bachelor’s in Criminology, but I’m unsure which job to aim for. I’m deeply interested in analyzing criminal patterns and traces, which makes me want to become a Criminal Analyst and eventually a Homicide Detective. At the same time, I’m equally passionate about Forensic Psychology. I want to choose a career that aligns closely with my interests.

What fields are there in criminal justice, and what degrees get you there?
I'm a high school student who's stumped on what field of criminal justice I want to work to become a part of. What I'm looking for is a job with a fairly consistent schedule, decent pay, and involves crime. Bringing justice is what motivates me to work in this area, so every field sounds interesting to me. Criminal law, forensic science, CSI, policing, etc. I would love to hear any advice or stories about any field. I'm still undecided, so I just want to see the options. Even if they're hard.
