What is studying neuroscience like? #Fall25
I don't want to know the basics, and I know every school is different. But how does the major differ from other science majors like biology. Especially in a pre-med viewpoint. Will it benefit me studying neuroscience instead of biology? (I do like the topic better) Also, what's the best studying tactics for neuroscience?

Neuroscience is fascinating because, unlike many parts of biology, it's still very much in evolution. I first studied it about 15 years ago, took some time off, and when I came back to it a few years ago, found a lot of the theories that were cutting edge then had been overturned, deepened, or otherwise changed.
One tricky thing to pay attention to in neuroscience, especially cerebral neuroscience, is that the brain areas are really poorly understood, and have lots of names. They can be referred to by their location, their makeup, a traditional name, or their Broadmann Area, so making sure you keep track of which of those are the same is important
