What website can you use to find scholarships that are local to your area?
I am a senior in high school and have already been accepted into the college I will be attending in the fall. I have found many opportunities to apply for scholarships on websites such as ScholarshipOwl, Scholarships360, Going Merry, Fast Web, Bold.org, Niche, Sallie, Edvisors, etc. However, I have struggled to find local scholarships that I have a greater opportunity to win. I am local to Franklin, TN. Thanks so much!

You can explore several websites to find details on local scholarship opportunities. For example:
1. Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee (CFMT): Offers a wide range of scholarship funds specifically for Middle Tennessee residents.
2. Scholarships.com (Tennessee Directory): Provides a state-specific filter to help you identify scholarships available to Tennessee students, including local and regional options.
3. Scholarship360 (Tennessee Scholarships): Their “local scholarships” section includes opportunities tailored to Tennessee students, often highlighting smaller community-based awards.
4. ScholarshipBuddyTennessee.com: Focuses solely on Tennessee scholarships for high school and college students, making it easier to find lesser-known opportunities.
5. SmartScholar.com (Tennessee Residents): Lists scholarships that are open specifically to Tennessee residents, helping you discover both statewide and regional programs.
Beyond website searches, you can also try a few additional approaches:
1. Check with your high school’s counseling office as many local scholarships are shared directly through schools.
2. Look at local government, county, or city websites, as these sometimes list scholarship opportunities or point to community organizations that offer them.
3. Visit local community centers, libraries, or bulletin boards, where some scholarships are posted in person rather than online.
4. Follow local social media groups or community pages, since local nonprofits or civic organizations often announce scholarship opportunities there.
