To become a tornado chaser, one must meet the following requirements:
Meteorological Knowledge: A solid understanding of meteorology, including storm behavior, radar data interpretation, and storm dynamics.
Practical Experience: Hands-on experience in severe weather environments is crucial.
Equipment Proficiency: Familiarity with specialized instruments and equipment used for storm chasing.
Safety Awareness: Knowledge of storm safety protocols, including driving safely, avoiding flooded roads, and maintaining situational awareness.
Communication Skills: Ability to communicate real-time observations and data to meteorologists and emergency services.
Research Skills: Skills in data analysis, writing, and creating detailed reports.
Professionalism: Adherence to safety regulations and professional standards in storm chasing.
These requirements ensure that tornado chasers can effectively contribute to severe weather research and public safety while minimizing risks
P.S. A great insurance plan

If you would like to be a storm chaser I suggest the following:
Time of year to chase tornados in the US: generally begins in April and tapers off by July
Get yourself a good background in meteorology, possibly get a meteorology degree
Find a college that has a meteorology program as well as a storm chasing program
Getting experience during severe weather.
See if you can meet with a meteorologist and/or a storm chaser to learn about what they do. Maybe your teachers or a counselor can help connect you with an expert.
I would suggest not chasing by yourself when you do chase, have others with you so someone can focus on driving and others can focus on the Radar, and the sky!
