what colleges should I look into for me to become a lineman and do electrical work ?

I really want to become a lineman and Im struggling in finding a good enough college so I don't have to do the internship for 2-4 years I like to work and I've never had problems when it comes to difficult things and I'm looking for one that will allow me to work right after and work in the field while I do so

You are entering a trade, and so you need to find a good trades school. The first thing I would do is contact either the IBEW (International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers), or an electrical company near you, and see about the opportunities for you. They will be the ones that would sponsor and pay for you was you do your apprenticeship as a Lineman.

Best of Luck to you. Finding the best company and location for you is the most important part of being a Lineman. That is what I would put my research into, and they will tell you where to go for your training, as you are working and getting paid by them.

An apprenticeship is more than just school—it's a full-time, well-paying job right from the start. If you want to be ready for work in months instead of years, consider Lineman Training Academies. These programs focus on the skills and certifications you need to get hired quickly.

Duration: Usually 7 to 15 weeks.

What You Get: A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), OSHA-10 safety certification, climbing certification, and "Hurtman" rescue training.

A Union Apprenticeship with the IBEW (International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers) follows an "Earn While You Learn" model.

The Benefit: You earn a good hourly wage (often $25–$35/hour to start) plus full benefits while you train.

The "Groundman" Shortcut: If you want to try the work before a full apprenticeship, you can sign up as a Groundman at a Union Hall. This entry-level job lets you join a crew right away to see if you like the work.
