How do I pick the right career path for me?

I am planning on attending Baruch college next fall and have an overall interest in business but unsure on what major I should pursue. I was wondering what different business majors are like and how they differ.

Thank you for your question. I am glad to know you have interest in business.
Below are my suggestions:
1. There are many business related careers, eg accounting, finance, banking, marketing, human resources, administration, etc. you can find out more online
2. Find out more on these subjects and determine what you have interest
3. Speak to someone who are working in these careers.
4. Seek guidance from professors and alumni
5. Shortlist 1-2 careers you would like to pursue
6. Choose the subjects that are relevant to the careers you have interest
Hope this helps! Good luck!
May Almighty God bless you!

At Baruch, the main differences are simple:
Finance and Accounting are more numbers-driven and analytical.
Marketing focuses on strategy, branding, and consumer behavior.
Management centers on leadership and operations.
Information Systems/Analytics combines business with tech and data.

In your first year, take intro courses, join clubs, and explore internships. Pay attention to which classes you enjoy and perform well in.

The right major is the one that fits your strengths and interests, not just what sounds impressive.
