Subjects Taught in Fashion Marketing
A Fashion Marketing degree blends the creative side of the fashion industry with the analytical side of business. If you major in this, you will learn how to predict trends, understand consumer behavior, and build fashion brands.
Here are the typical subjects you will take:
Marketing Principles: The fundamentals of advertising, PR, and consumer psychology.
Fashion Forecasting & Trend Analysis: How to predict what styles, colors, and fabrics will be popular next season.
Retail Management & Merchandising: How to price items, manage inventory, and set up visually appealing store layouts (both physical and e-commerce).
Brand Management: How to build, position, and maintain a fashion brand's identity in the market.
Textiles and Product Knowledge: Understanding different fabrics, how they are made, and their sustainability.
Digital Marketing: Using social media, influencer partnerships, and SEO to sell fashion products.
Business Basics: Accounting, economics, and fashion law (copyrights and contracts).

I don't know much about marketing for fashion specifically, but in general marketing, you'll learn about key principles like what to sell, pricing, where to sell, and how to promote. You'll also study advertising, consumer behavior, market research, and strategy. Courses in digital and social media marketing would be beneficial. For fashion, photography might be a useful class. If you have certain universities in mind, check their websites to see course descriptions and learn more about their programs.
