What would be the best way for me to manage gambling?
Hello, my name is Ezequiel . I am a seventh grader at crane middle school and I would like to be a gambling manager. I would like to know what kind of education and experience I would need to be a gambling manager. I also would like to know what the hardest part about being a gambling manager is along with the easiest part of the gambling manager. Another inquiry I have what is the starting salary and what would be the maximum salary increase I can have within 2-3 years working in that position.

Thank you for your thoughtful questions. It’s great that you are already thinking about careers.
A gambling manager (sometimes called a casino or gaming manager) is responsible for running the gambling area in a casino. They supervise employees, make sure games follow the rules, watch for cheating, and help make sure customers have a good experience. ()
Education and experience:
Most gambling managers start by finishing high school and then working in a casino in entry-level jobs such as a dealer, customer service worker, or floor supervisor. Many people also study business, hospitality, or management in college because those subjects teach leadership, finance, and operations. ()
Hardest part of the job:
The hardest part is usually managing many people and making sure everyone follows strict rules and laws. Casinos operate 24 hours a day, so managers sometimes work nights, weekends, or holidays.
Easiest or most enjoyable part:
Many managers enjoy the fast-paced environment and working with people. It can be exciting because every day on the casino floor is a little different.
Salary:
In the United States, gambling managers typically earn around $80,000–$85,000 per year on average, though beginners may start around $50,000–$70,000 depending on experience and the casino. With several years of experience, some managers earn over $120,000 per year. ()
“At your age the most important thing is exploring many interests and learning how businesses operate. The skills used to run casinos—organization, math, customer service, and leadership—are also useful in many other industries.”
Advice for you now:
Since you are in seventh grade, focus on building skills that will help in many careers:
Math (helpful for understanding odds and finances)
Communication and leadership
Business or entrepreneurship classes
Activities where you lead a team or group
If you stay curious and work hard in school, you will have many career options available to you.
Good luck with your studies, and keep asking great questions!
