What is a great way to connect with people for internship opportunities?

I’m an incoming college freshman and I want to get a head start on internship opportunities. I am going to major in Zoology so something with animals is what I’m looking for.

Hi Dakota,

It's great that you have an interest in animals. Do you know where you want to go with that degree, e.g. more zoo director or more vet school?

The Little Rock zoo has an internship program:

Other options:

https://www.agfc.com/careers/internships/

If you plan to go to veterinary school, contact some veterinarians in your area for volunteer and internship opportunities.

Also: talk to people in your department. They would likely have contacts.

You can also use job search sites like Indeed, ZipRecruiter or LinkedIn to search for internships in your area

I hope this helps! All the best to you!
