Any college program combined with AI will give you the most opportunity. The people that will excel in an AI -driven world will be those who know how to apply AI, build with AI and manage AI-driven systems. If your interest is in STEM, learning AI and applying it in your field of interest, then below would be some of my recommendations.
- Computer Science (AI / ML focus)
- Data Science / Data Engineering (AI runs on data)
- Computer Engineering / Robotics (AI is moving into robots, cars, drones)
- Business + AI (MIS, Business Analytics)
- Healthcare + AI (Bioinformatics, Health Tech)
- Finance + AI (Quant / FinTech)
Other programs would be those that are more human centric where judgement, trust, empathy and human interactions will be at the core. These cannot be easily replaced by AI but looking at how fast technology is changing, these will also not be shielded for long.
- Psychology
- Law
So, the real winning strategy would be stacking skills along with the program major of your interest. Good luck!

Harold’s Answer
The most durable advantage isn't a specific major, it's being fluent with AI tools in whatever domain you work in. A biologist who knows how to use AI models, or a lawyer who can work with AI research tools, will consistently outcompete peers who don't. Most programs don't teach this yet, which means self-directed learning matters enormously. So it's more important to find a program/major/filed you are most interested in or excited about. and bring your curiosity on how to optimize AI use.

Denny’s Answer
Try to focus less on the program itself and more on what you can achieve with it. Consider joining an Engineering or Science program and get hands-on with AI. We need people who can solve problems and think logically using the scientific method. Those who use AI to make their work better will have great potential. Go out there and create amazing things!

Hello Collin,
Programs that combine strong technical skills with problem-solving will likely offer the most opportunities in an AI-driven world. Fields like Computer Science, Data Science, Cybersecurity, and Electrical Engineering are all closely connected to how AI systems are built and used.
At the same time, interdisciplinary programs such as business analytics, bioinformatics, or AI applied to healthcare are also becoming valuable because they combine technical knowledge with real-world applications.
