Hi Cherish! I really wish I had gotten to know the campus and people better. I found out about so many opportunities later that I wish I had known about earlier or had the courage to try.

Isida’s Answer

Hello Cherish! Your inquiry has gone through my weekly mail. Your question is a great one, and you are an ideal mentor for me. Confidence isn’t something you’re born with—it’s built by trying, failing, and trying again. Every time you step outside your comfort zone, you grow.
Don't follow my example, which I found opportunities later in life - embrace the courage and celebrate small wins, like finishing a project or speaking up in class, because those moments add up to big growth.
Hope it helps! Good luck.

Ali’s Answer

Hi Cherish! Take advantage of all your school has to offer - Career Services center, clubs, conversations & time with your professors, working with students in your major and other majors closely related. Being involved and starting involvement as early as possible will help you go a long way! Everyone on that campus, specifically those who work for the school, are there to help you succeed - sometimes you just have to be courageous enough to ask for their help and advice.

Jing’s Answer

Hi Cherish,

Congratulations to you that you are stepping to college life. As a freshman, you might be excited, might be a little nervous, it's quite common. There are lots of things to treat on your first day in college.

Keep smiling and keep good mood, say "Hello" to your roommates and classmates proactively, exchange contact information, explore the campus and complete enrollment procedures together, integrate into the new group quickly.

On your first day, fully familiarize yourself with the campus and resources, visit key areas such as cafeterias, gyms, library, academic building etc., learn about the functions of each department to prepare for your future study and life in college.

There might be something not perfect as expected, be yourself with proactive spirit. We may not manage others but make no mistake that we can manage ourselves. Good luck!
