What are some healthy habits and studying methods for a double major pre-med student?
I am starting at Campbell University this fall, and I am very focused on balancing mental and physical health while maintaining strong academics. What academic and behavioral habits are most beneficial for pre-med students, and what study methods work best for someone considering a double major?

Plan on spending more time studying Organic Chemistry than any class you have ever had.

Hi Layla! I was not a pre-med student, but as a busy professional, this is something I am constantly working on. Here are some things that helped me preserve my health & wellness while in college and now:
1) Pick your non-negotiables & stick to them. A workout? A walk outside? Figure out a daily habit that brings you balance (I like to do something active and move my body) and do it no matter what. Even if you feel too busy, it is usually a mental & physical break that makes you more productive when you return to whatever you are doing.
2) SLEEP. You will perform so much better with 8 hours of sleep each night. I severely neglected my sleep in college and now, I just know that I will be more productive and sharper if I sleep. Prioritize it, and if that means sacrificing an extra hour of studying - better to sleep and perform better the next day.
3) Journal! Keep a journal by your bedside table and write down all that is on your mind before going to bed. If you wake up in the middle of the night with racing thoughts, write it down. It helps to dump your worries out of your brain on paper.
Good luck and wishing you the best!!!
