How do I know if my major is right for me?
Choosing a college major to spend thousands of dollars on and hopefully base the rest of my life on, is a huge decision for a 17 years old. So how do I know that I'm on the right path?

I would suggest for you to make a list of things you are interested and not interested in (for a career). What do you like doing and what do you hate doing. Are there things you CANNOT see yourself doing as a job? From there, either research more about possible career paths with that job or ask here if you need help.
Another thing you can do is to ask teachers/school counselors for advice, they often have resources to help you find a career path and what to do.
A separate thing you can also do, is if you have a specific field you are more interested in, try to find somebody to talk to within that field, whether over email or online call. They can give you some insights to what field of study you should go into.
