Whats the hardest part of working in forensics ? And what makes it worth it pushing through that challenge?

My name is Kameron and I am a senior. I am doing a Senior Project for my language arts class where we explore a career that interests us. The purpose of this project is to to give us an idea of what we’d like to do in life after graduation.

Part of this project is asking 10 career related questions to help me learn more about this field(forensics).

Cecilia Alondra’s Answer

Hi, Kameron!
Cecilia here from Mexico. I worked closely with the Forensic Department when I was a Homicide Detective and in my experience, the hardest part for me was like decode and analyze the evidence and get to know what that was trying to “tell me” and connect all the dots making sense. Other thing that was hard for me, was to know the “dark side” of the human mind and the levels it could reach with type of things and emotions that drove into those actions and in the same time that was my motivation to keep learning and doing my investigations. It’s hard? yes, does it worth it? Definitely! That was one of my favourite and most interesting jobs I ever had and let me give back to the society as a public server.

Isida’s Answer

Hello Kameron,
Your inquiry has been processed in my weekly mail. You are like a mentor to me because I am thinking of pursuing a master's in law enforcement, but maybe not in criminology. Confidence isn’t something you’re born with—it’s built by trying, failing, and trying again. Every time you step outside your comfort zone, you grow. Celebrate small wins, like finishing a project or speaking up in class, because those moments add up to big growth. Stay updated to my peer's advice and come back again to Career Village with other good questions like this. Hope it helps!
