Do you have advice or suggestions on jobs I could apply for that are relatively low stress for an introvert and potentially helpful for my career (in alternative medicine)?

Hi,

I am currently looking for work that I can do while I am in school full-time.
I've only ever worked in customer service related jobs in the past and found them to be quite repetitive and socially draining.
I have been searching for remote jobs as well but many listings appear to be from unreliable sources and there are limited options I qualify for.
I'm also open to short term full-time work until mid-June :)

Many thanks,

Ash

I’d probably look into jobs like data entry, virtual assistant work, scheduling, library assistant, wellness receptionist, or admin support since they can be lower stress and less socially draining. Some could also connect well with your future career in alternative medicine, especially wellness clinics or holistic health offices. Even short-term office work could help build experience while you’re in school.

Hey, I really like how clear you are about what doesn’t work for you, that already saves you a lot of trial and error. If customer service drained you, it makes total sense to look for something quieter and more meaningful, especially if you’re interested in alternative medicine.

Tunde recommends the following next steps:

Reception or assistant at a wellness clinic Think massage therapy, acupuncture, naturopathy, yoga studios.
Reach out directly to small wellness businesses (even if they’re not hiring). A simple message like: “Hi, I’m a student interested in alternative medicine and looking for part-time work or even helping out short-term. I’d love to support your practice and learn.”
Thank you comment icon Thank you so much, Tunde! Ashley

Start by choosing what you want to pursue in alternative medicine, like becoming a massage therapist, naturopath, or acupuncturist.

Here are some things to consider:

- Licensing and Certification: You will need provincial licenses, such as those from Ontario’s College of Massage Therapists or College of Naturopaths.
- Financial Investment: Training can be expensive, so compare the cost of tuition with potential future earnings.
- Work Environment: If you enjoy quieter settings, you might prefer private practice or telehealth instead of busy clinics.
- Career Growth: The field of alternative medicine is expanding in Canada.

Good luck on your journey ahead!
