Brady’s Answer

Balancing academics and sports can definitely be challenging, but I’ve found that learning how to manage multiple responsibilities at once is a skill that helps not only now, but also in the future.

One thing that helps me is planning ahead and keeping track of exams, projects, practices, and assignments so I know what needs my attention each week. This helps me stay organized and avoid feeling overwhelmed when things get busy.

I also try to break larger tasks into smaller steps because it makes everything feel more manageable. Instead of focusing on everything I have to do at once, I start with smaller goals and work my way up.

I try to prioritize what’s most important and use my time wisely, even if that sometimes means sacrificing social time with friends. There are busy weeks where things don’t go perfectly, but staying organized and being consistent helps me balance both school and sports while still doing well in each.

Nic’s Answer

Hi Cole, good question that is definitely something that is important at the college level. I think that school still needs to be a top priority. It is much easier to focus on baseball and make time for that when you are all caught up on assignments and ready for exams. I would try to have consistent blocks everyday where it is dedicated to studying around practices and games. This will help you get into a routine of studying and will make it work even better. Another good idea would be to get a study group together with some players from the team in the same year as you. It is always easier to be studying with other people who are also just as busy but prioritize school. This could be a weekly study session where you share ideas and talk about courses. I would say it is also important to try and develop relationships with your professors. If you are able to build that relationship it makes them relate to you more if you have to miss a class for a game and they are more willing to work with you to catch up on assignments or put extra work in if needed.
