Laura’s Answer

Yes, I think working in HVAC can be incredibly rewarding. It's a stable profession that provides an essential service and helps a lot of people every day. Keeping homes, businesses, schools, and hospitals comfortable and safe—whether that's staying warm in the winter or cool during increasingly hot summers—is incredibly important.

It can be physically demanding work, but for many people that's a positive because it keeps you active and in good shape. HVAC can also provide strong earning potential, especially as you gain experience and specialize in certain areas of the trade.

Looking at the values you mentioned:

Health: The work is active and hands-on, and HVAC systems play a major role in air quality and comfort.
Money: Skilled HVAC technicians are in demand, and many earn very good wages.
Helping Others: Every day you're solving problems that directly impact people's comfort, safety, and quality of life.

If those values are important to you, HVAC could be a great fit.

Liam’s Answer

HVAC:
Money- yes
Health- depends
Helping others- end of August you will be someone's superhero

Doing HVAC you will make a lot of money. The more skills and certifications you have the more money you will make.
Health depends on what you make of it. Tradesmen often fall to bad habits in order to work more. This means they often don't eat well or exercise as they should and it becomes a problem down the line. If you make modest goals and keep good habits this should not be an issue. Collective minor injuries are common for tradesmen and can lead to bigger problems down the line. There is nothing specific about HVAC that forces you to eat poorly or to avoid exercise. Prioritize your health and you should be fine!
Helping others is an interesting one because again, end of August, every year, you will get over-thanked for just showing up and doing your job. Other than that there are opportunities for you to volunteer using your skills, there are opportunities for you to represent your company or union helping others, you will also be self sufficient financially so you may even donate to causes. There is a world of opportunity to help people out there and if you want to use your HVAC skills to do so, I am positive there is someone that will be very thankful that you are!

Liam recommends the following next steps:

Chip fabrication in the United States is about to take off. Chip fabrication plants require a lot of skilled HVAC technicians to install and maintain very robust HVAC systems.
