What was the most unexpected thing you changed about your application strategy that actually started winning you scholarships, and how did that change the way you told your personal story to the judges?

My primary ambition is to remain a lifelong student, with constant growth through my academic pursuits, a degree in Marine Biology, where I intend to focus on the urgent field of wildlife conservation.i would kike to know the best ways to get scholarships so that i can minimize any future debt?

Hi Abigail,

I started searching outside my career interests for scholarships. That is a good place to start but there are so many scholarships out there for a variety of things. Starting with local scholarships is a great approach! I’d definitely encourage you to research what opportunities your school, community organizations, and local businesses may offer first.

Another HUGE helpful resource is the book The Big Book of Scholarships. It includes a wide variety of scholarship opportunities for students from many different backgrounds, interests, and career paths. Taking the time to explore multiple options can really pay off.
