You say near Virginia Beach, but not how close you mean by near, so I'm assuming you live somewhere within driving distance to the beach. You want a tuition under $5000.00 and a school with a volleyball team. You di not say if you play on a school team or on a club team or if you just like playing with friends. Using those parameters, my answer is this: If you weren't good enough to make a team as a player, then look at other roles you can fill such as coaching assistant, manager, stat keeper, ect. That way you will still be involved with the sport and perhaps considering majoring in some line in the physical education realm.
Next, you have a desired budget, and that is a very good place to always start when looking to advance your education. I don't know how achievable that goal will be to meet; however. Private colleges are most likely out of your budgets but state schools offer great educations and have more reasonable rates. Since you want to be in the VB area, look at Old Dominion University. It's a state school and has very fine credentials.
Next, don't plan on living in a dorm or an apartment. Stay at home and save money. This is hard, I know, but you are talking about thousands of dollars in savings. You will miss out on some campus life events, but if you have to take a loan for tuition, then you are not looking at being tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt at graduation.
Last thing, always look at the big picture. If a school does not have what you want to major in but is affordable, decide if you have another dream to follow. if not, then bite the bullet and follow your dream career. You will be happier in life if you do. Best of luck to you.
