I personally would shadow at different settings, like outpatient, nursing homes, hospital for inpatient. The more you can connect physically, the better, because they'll remember you, especially if you come prepared with questions and genuine interest.

Reach out to local clinics, hospitals, pediatric centers, outpatient orthopedic practices, or school-based therapy programs to observe or volunteer. Even brief shadowing experiences can lead to strong professional relationships and future references. If you're in school now, join clubs related to exercise science, kinesiology, and/or physical therapy. Research to see if there are any PT organizations in your city and if they have volunteer events, directories for mentors, etc.

Hey there! Have you considered going to events where you can meet people your age who share your interests? If you love football, you could join groups or meetups about it. It's a fun way to connect and see if you really like it. For physical therapy, try looking for workshops, seminars, or student clubs about healthcare or physical therapy. It's a great way to make real connections and learn more about the field!
