What are some unique passion projects?

Hi guys, Im currently a sophmore in highschool and trying to deepen my intrests in forensic science and music. Ive been searching for passion projects for awhile and I feel like everything is the same, like students at my school creating nonprofits or blogs that don't really do much. I want to have something of my own with genuine passion and stands out, any suggestions would help.

Hi Caroline!
A passion project for music, outside of regular schoolwork could any aspect of music that you're drawn to. It might involve composing an original or cover song or album, launching a music podcast, building instruments, or organizing a community music event, such as a concert.
You could:
Write and produce an original EP, create soundtracks for film scenes, or arrange music for a specific group.
Volunteer to teach music to underprivileged children (such as through Headstart, there are a bunch of associated programs in Memphis area), start a school music club, or organize a music event, such as a charity benefit.
Build instruments (like a pipe marimba, or visit a luthier in your area and watch / document how they work with an article and pictures), study the acoustics of sound, record some reverb impulse responses for various spaces (indoors and outdoors), or develop a music-based app.
Launch a music blog, review new albums on a YouTube channel, or produce a podcast exploring the history of a genre of music. Your area has a rich history in blues, rock 'n' roll, soul, gospel, and Memphis rap.
Create a documentary about local musicians, research the impact of technology on music, or analyze the math principles in music theory.
To get going, you need to:
Choose a topic you really love.
Make a specific plan (set a schedule and get started)
Share your work through a portfolio, website, or in a public performance.
Good luck on your journey - you're going to do great!

It’s great that you’re thinking about building something you’re genuinely interested in instead of creating a project just to impress colleges. Since you’re interested in both forensic science and music, you could combine them in creative ways. For example, you could research forensic techniques used to authenticate historical musical instruments or investigate how audio forensics is used to analyze recordings in criminal investigations.
You might also create a series of educational videos or presentations explaining real forensic cases, or volunteer with a local museum, science center, or community organization to gain hands-on experience.
