Research the scholarships that you want to do. I would suggest doing multiple lower amount scholarships rather than doing the largest amount scholarships. Since many people try to do the bigger scholarships there is often less people applying the lower scholarships.

Hi Abraham,
Starting with local scholarships is a great approach! I’d definitely encourage you to research what opportunities your school, community organizations, and local businesses may offer first.
Another helpful resource is the book The Big Book of Scholarships. It includes a wide variety of scholarship opportunities for students from many different backgrounds, interests, and career paths. Taking the time to explore multiple options can really pay off.
Best of luck with your search!
Research local business scholarships - especially banks

I would start by talking to your school administration and seeing what scholarships are offered by your school. Next, I would do some searching online for local scholarships. You are going to have a much better chance at winning local scholarships than applying for large scholarships that are easy to find on the internet. You can also look into scholarships at the universities that you plan to apply to. Certain universities have a set amount of scholarship money they will give you if you meet certain criteria (i.e. getting certain test scores). I would do a deep dive into the scholarships available at any universities you plan to apply to.
After those 3 avenues, I would look into online scholarships. Trying to find scholarships in your field can be helpful here. For example, if you are interested in mechanical engineering, I would look into mechanical engineering scholarships.
Throughout the process, I would prioritize quality over quantity- don't submit a high volume of low-effort applications. Instead, focus your efforts on submitting high-quality applications to scholarships that you have a better chance at winning.
