Having a good work life balance is important for me because it helps me stay productive, focused, and not burned out, especially during busy season when the hours get long. I do state corporate tax returns, and during busy season I work about 55–60 hours a week for three months straight, so it’s easy to lose track of work life balance. That’s one thing I really advocate for, because if you don’t make time for yourself, you can start to feel miserable and even begin to hate your job. The advice I can give you is to find a routine that gives you time to yourself while also being able to meet your work goals.
Luckily, I’ve built a routine that helps me stay balanced and not burnt out. I work out at 5:30 a.m., work until about 5 p.m., and then I have the afternoon to enjoy some free time without feeling guilty about shutting my computer down for the day. Having time outside of work to reset helps me keep up that pace and still enjoy my job.

A question to ask yourself now and then is, 'If i keep doing what i do today for next 5 years, will i be happy with the trade-offs I'm making'? If the answer is no, that is your sign for a change. A balanced life does not mean working less hours, it is to ensure your time reflects your priorities.
