What career paths in finance can I venture into as a Business Administration student?
I am a Pen-ultimate year student in Business administration looking at graduating in a year, and I'm unsure of a career path to venture into once I graduate. I have interests in entrepreneurship, business development and investments, though my knowledge is limited in these, I want to know what path to focus on and build a solid career there.

Great question. I want to build on to what Kelly mentioned above. It is what you make of it. Some of the other skills that are needed to be successful are:
Communication - Very important to be able to articulate your ideas for different audiences.
Management - How to plan work, track deadlines, manage risks and coordinate with people.
Operations Mindset - Be able to understand workflows, process improvement and business mechanics
Problem Solving and Adaptability - You'll be constantly dealing with shifting priorities, incomplete information and operational issues. The correct aptitude to resolve these issues will be critical in your success.
Technology Proficiency - Learn about AI and how to use it to your advantage. Learn about all AI engines and experiment. Learn to ask the right questions as it will pay you in the long run.
Internships, whether paid or unpaid, are incredibly valuable. They can be a great way to get your foot in the door and give you the chance to show what you can do. So definitely don’t underestimate the value of internships — they can open the door to amazing long-term opportunities. I really hope that this helps.

Business administration is what you make of it. You start with basic skills that make you employable, but to succeed, you need to actively use those skills. I highly recommend finding one or more internships. These will help you understand which roles match your skills and interests. Keep focusing on your studies, but also learn from top leaders through podcasts, YouTube, LinkedIn, and books to see how they achieved success. Remember, skills beyond what you learn in college, like soft skills, can make you more employable.
Here are a few more tips:
- Identify 3-5 jobs you want and connect with people in those roles on LinkedIn. Request informational interviews to discuss their career paths and get advice on entering the industry.
- Learn about AI and workflows, and get comfortable with new technologies.
- Don't underestimate the value of internships!
