How can I leverage college education towards entrepreneurship opportunities?

In college, I want to pursue integrating basic business and financial training into youth groups. I will experiment with hands-on workshops and guest speakers, using practice-based learning methods to help students expand their creativity and gain confidence in their entrepreneurial passions. I want to help middle and high school students feel confident learning business, finance, and entrepreneurship from professionals who’ve applied these skills firsthand. I hope to introduce a way that creates accessibility to business education and teaching.

College vs start up, which makes more sense?

What is everyone’s opinion about a traditional college experience rather than starting the business I know I want now? Trying to justify spending $120,000 for four years at a state college instead of using that money for starting my business. #Fall25

I had marketing internships but now i am scared to do tech ones. Any advice?

I am an IT senior but my resume is more business-centered focus since I am not a technical type of person. I hate coding but lately, I want to dive into non-tech roles with minimal coding or like other branches of IT but I chickened out. Some of the requirements like python code development. I do not have that skillset. Should I still apply and learn from the internship? or should I beefed up my resume first? Some roles I am interested in: business analyst, project management, product development or ui/ux design.

What do I need to start a mobile food cart business?

I am 14 years old and located in the state of Arkansas. As far as I am aware, a person under the age of 18 does not need a business permit in my state. Regardless of that, what permits would I need to get for a mobile "make your own" charcuterie business? How would I draft up a business plan to show to people? How do I know what resources I need to get started? I know that I'm young, but that doesn't mean I'm not determined. I know that I'm able to do this.

In your experience, how has the Cornell Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management helped you solve real-world problems through innovation and global research Can you share specific projects you have created? #Spring25

Hi, my name is Neriah, and I am a rising first-year student at the Cornell Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management. I am passionate about innovation, financial literacy, and fashion business/marketing, with an interest in tech and engineered solutions. I aim to use my major, Applied Economics and Management, to innovate global platforms of economic empowerment for marginalized creators and entrepreneurs. I would greatly appreciate gaining insights from a Cornell Dyson student, alumnus, or economics major who has innovated or worked on projects addressing key issues such as fashion sustainability, economic inclusion, or other challenges in the business world, especially those incorporating tech and engineered solutions. Any perspectives or advice would be incredibly valuable as I begin my journey at Cornell. Warmly, Neriah #Spring25

How did the people you've met —mentors, friends, or experiences— help you realize what kind of business or nonprofit you wanted to create, Ms. CEO? #Spring25

I'm passionate about launching both a business and a nonprofit foundation to create student internships and build an endowment that supports students like me as my long (long) term career goals. I want to give back to communities that have invested in me. But I'm still figuring out how to invent a product or service that makes an impact. How do you come up with a meaningful idea and identify your target audience? This summer, I’ll be traveling to Vietnam, Japan, and interning in Korea for 6 weeks to study K-beauty marketing and business. I'm especially driven to make financial literacy more accessible to marginalized communities.

Starting dropshipping/print on demand business as a minor as someone who wants to make money with limited income?

Hello! As a freshman in high school, soon sophomore, I have learned a lot out and in school. I want to begin making money now, and I have heard of both drop shipping and print on demand businesses for minors. Print on demand seems more easily accessible to my age, and I want opinions on how to start, my success rate, and from those experience, how much money can be expected to make if I put my all into it (which if I do I will)! I am more likely to do print on demand, but it depends on the money that goes in and out of it, and how each works legally. I still have research a bit, but I wanted to know some opinions. I am also aware I may not make a lot, but with the right effort and hardworking I believe I can.
