What is the best way to get sponsorships from companies or campus ambassadorships ? . #spring26

After I finish community college, I want to transfer to Longwood for communications. I want to join multiple clubs and get sponsorships so I can add to my portfolio.

Hey Matthew, great question! Its amazing that you're already thinking about your future and what you want on your resume. That being said, I would start by doing a brief analysis of the club you end up joining, the demographic, mission, goals, recent communities activities, impact, and access. After you take a look at that data use tiktok, instagram, or youtube to find people who are sharing their personal approaches to reaching out to brands. That way you can see what professionals are doing and tweak it to your interests/goals. Next, I would look for companies that have worked with students previously and align with your goals and mission and might benefit from your audience. Lastly, when you do reach out include a personal story about why you want to work with the brand, similar to an interview do your research before so you can speak to their previous work and/or accomplishments.
