Useful Websites / Resources
Here are some really good platforms that can help:

IBonomics – This one is great because it combines notes, quizzes, diagrams, and even practice tools in one place. It’s designed specifically to help students move from confusion to exam-ready practice. https://www.ibonomics.org/
IB Notes – Economics HL – Very comprehensive notes covering micro, macro, and global topics in an organized way. https://www.ibnotes.org/economics-hl
EconPrep Notes – Free, detailed notes across all units (good for revision and concept clarity). https://econprep.com/ib-economics-notes/
Revision Village – Past Papers – Super useful to practice real exam questions with solutions. https://www.revisionvillage.com/ib-economics/hl/past-papers/
IB Econ Revision – Includes structured revision, flashcards, and exam-style questions aligned with the latest syllabus. https://ibeconrev.com/

--->Key tip: don’t just read notes; combine them with past paper practice, because IB repeats question styles a lot.

But How to Actually Improve Your Score??? (this matters the most)
Getting a 7 isn’t about knowing more—it’s about writing like an examiner expects:

Master structure
For essays: define → explain → diagram → apply → evaluate
Use real-world examples
Examiners reward answers that connect theory to real situations (e.g., inflation, taxes, etc.) [theprofs.co.uk]
Practice past papers regularly
This helps with timing and understanding patterns in questions [clastify.com]
Know all diagrams perfectly
They must be labeled, accurate, and explained clearly
Understand the exam format
HL has 3 papers (including the policy/data paper), so you need different strategies for each

To move from a 5 to a 7, focus on what the mark scheme rewards instead of just content. Study the mark scheme, not just the syllabus. In IB Econ HL essays, evaluation is key—balancing both sides of an argument with real-world examples is crucial, more so than definitions or diagrams. This is often the difference between a 5 and a 7.

Get feedback from more than one source. If you find your teacher's grading inconsistent, seek input from another economics teacher, a tutor, or online IB communities like r/IBO.

Practice timed past papers using the official mark schemes from the IB site. This helps you understand the real criteria and removes any bias from your teacher's grading.

Use resources like Revision Village or IB Econ-focused YouTube channels for clear explanations of diagrams and evaluation techniques.
