What are skills I should have for welding?
I have been interested in welding for a while now but I'm not sure what skills I would need. I'm also not sure how one would start a career I know I'll go to a trade school for it but can I be working as a welder while I'm doing that? What's the hardest part of the job? What are the hours? I would also love to know more about underwater welding and what that entails.

Hi Aiden,
In order to work as a welder, you need to know how to weld in the first place.
Generally speaking, it is difficult to get even an entry level job without any relevant skills or experience. If you're still in Highschool, you school may have "Metal Shop" classes witch may teach basic welding skills. After that going to tradeschool or community college for welding can help you acquire welding skills.
As far as how difficult it is, you are the only person who will know if something is too difficult, and the only way to learn is by trying it for yourself. As far as the hours go, it highly depends on the specific postion/company/industry.
