what is the salary I can quote? I am done with Accenture final round of interview for custom software engineer L10- my total years of exp is 5 and relevant to frontend development is around 4 years. My last drawn salary was 5Lpa from Capgemini (ik I was severely underpaid, stayed there because the recent project offered a lot of learning). How much should I aim for during salary negotiation? Also I am an immediate joiner.

Also does Accenture release offer first and then later negotiation or they call and discuss first?

Hi Nikita,

It’s great that you’ve completed your final round with Accenture — congratulations on reaching this stage. With 5 years of total experience (4 years relevant in frontend development), you should confidently aim for a salary in the range of ₹12–18 LPA for the L10 Custom Software Engineer role.

Salary Expectation:

Market Range (Accenture India, 2026): • Mid-level engineers (3–5 yrs): ₹11–31 LPA • Senior engineers (6–9 yrs): ₹22–59 LPA • Median salary for software engineers: ₹12.2 LPA, with the 75th percentile at ₹19.4 LPA

Your Profile: With your experience and strong frontend skills, you fall at the upper end of the mid-level band.

Recommended Ask: ₹15–18 LPA is realistic and competitive, especially since your last drawn salary was ₹5 LPA (severely underpaid). Being an immediate joiner strengthens your case.

Accenture’s Offer Process:

Typically, Accenture releases the offer letter first with a fixed CTC.

Negotiation usually happens after the offer is shared, where you can request a discussion with HR based on market benchmarks, skills, and immediate availability.

Tip: Be prepared with data points (market ranges, your skillset, and underpaid history) to justify your ask.

Negotiation Strategy:

Anchor High but Realistic: Quote ₹18 LPA as your expectation to allow room for HR to negotiate down while still landing in your target range.

Highlight Immediate Joining: Stress that you can join right away, saving Accenture time and cost.

Leverage Skills: Emphasize your 4 years of frontend specialization, project delivery, and adaptability.

Be Transparent: Mention your last drawn salary was below market, but you stayed for learning — this shows commitment and growth mindset.

Risks & Considerations:

Accenture may initially offer closer to the median (~₹12–13 LPA).

Negotiation window is limited — once the offer is released, HR may only allow minor adjustments.

Clarify fixed vs variable components in the CTC, as Accenture’s packages include performance bonuses.

In short, quote ₹18 LPA during negotiation, expect a final offer between ₹15–17 LPA, and be ready to justify with your experience, immediate availability, and market benchmarks. Accenture will release the offer first, then allow negotiation.
