what internships should I look for in college to get into college sporting event work field?
Im studing journalism at UK next year and was wondering how to get internships so that after college I can work as a sports photographer?

Hello Mason,
I was not aware of internships in college. But, they could exist.
Before you start at UK, I would suggest you become familiar with cameras and lenses and how to use them. If you do not have any gear, I would steer you towards mirrorless bodies and lenses that start around 24mm and reach to at least 200mm minimum. Do not buy a 24-200mm lens. If you can afford lenses with a f4.0 maximum fstop, that would be helpfull.
I would approach the school newspaper to work as a photographer. That is a great start to becoming a photojournalist. Your school probably has staff photographers, get to know them.
Take classes in art and photography. Look at the work of successful sports shooters.
Finally, make photography your life's passion. You will need that to succeed.
