Hi Uniququa.

You can be sociable by joining clubs or communities. You can start by initiating conversation within your circle - can be your classmates or anyone within your comfort group. Once you do that, you can widen your network by attending activities that will make you engage in bigger audiences. You can also consider running for office within your organization so you can be exposed to more functions.

Kortnee’s Answer

Hello, Uniququa!

You can become sociable on you campus at least two different ways.

First, make small talk with your classmates and find out if they are involved in any on-campus social organizations. If they are involved on campus, ask them for invites to social events or meetings held by their prospective organizations. Second, visit the Student Life Office at your university to learn more about organizations or social events. Best of luck with your educational, professional, and personal endeavors!

Best regards,

Kortnee B.

The best way to be sociable is to put yourself out there join clubs and different organizations. A lot of times there are different open houses which can make it very easy to meet people and get plugged into community.

Hope this helps!

Hang out in communal areas. Once you've moved into a student house and have made your room nice and homely, it can be tempting to spend hours alone in your room, playing games and watching Netflix.

Darlene’s Answer

Best advice is to join the many student clubs your university offers based on your interest. You'll find it much easier to network and get to know other students that have interest similar to yours. Also, think about joining or forming study groups in the classes that you'll take.

Some of my most cherished relationships I have today were formed back when I was in college studying with others for a test or a project we had to complete.

Good luck!

Have you considered looking for an app to help? That may sound counterintuitive, but I am aware that there are people out there developing apps to help students get social. Perhaps look for one on the App Store for your phone platform!

Good luck.
