I very much like what I am doing and overall have liked all the many different positions which I have held. I believe the key to liking what you do is being open to new experiences. Sometimes it might be the people you work with who bring joy to your day or possibly the location or flexibility of a job. It isn't always what you are doing but the impact of what you are doing that can make you feel good about it. For example, if you are a janitor, you can go home at night knowing that you have provided a service that creates a safe and comfortable workplace for others. Keep thinking outside the box!

With every good wish.

I think while your question appears simple, it is extremely important. There are many people out there that get into a line of work because they think that will bring them the most amount of money vs doing something they actually like. While every job will not be the best every day, it is important to do what you are passionate about. For my career, having a very good work life balance is extremely important where I am not having to typically work extreme hours and have the flexibility to work from home at times (in non-covid times). I enjoy the work I do by looking at numbers and evaluating deals. For some people, they enjoy construction getting the thrill of seeing something come from nothing. Others enjoy the medicine, or practicing law. It is important for you to think on what you are passionate about and explorer career options from there.

I know it is tough when you are looking for a job and get an opportunity, but if you are fortunate enough to get several offers, really researching the company is my best piece of advice. You may not want to pick the company that offers you the most amount of money as you might fit in better with the other company. And while you may not know the real personality of a manager until you begin, having a connection during the interview is one indicator (but not the only one!)

When I was in a different job previously as a real estate broker, i chose to go for the better company in the market, but was going to work under a manager I didn't quite click with. The other job was going to be with a smaller company that wasn't as well known in the market, but I really liked the manager I would be under. It was a regret in the end as it ultimately had me rethink what I wanted to do and get out of the sales industry. I'm happy with where I'm at now, but choosing if I chose the other company, I think I would have still been in that industry.
