I'm not a carpenter myself, but I thought I would just provide an example of someone in my life who is whose typical day is different from what I originally thought a carpenter's would be. He actually works in a hospital as a carpenter. He works daily shifts and does various tasks the building may need on a daily basis. I originally thought most carpenters were self-employed or did work in houses, so this was new to me and thought you might want to hear a possible field of work for a carpenter.

Get up early, be at work early, wear a tool belt, squared and level everything, follow proper building code, and cuss-out pieces of wood occassionally.
