as other already said, it really depends. I would recommend you look at glassdoor (you can google it) which give good information how companies pay their engineers.

Like others have said the salary range is very wide and is heavily dependent on company/industry (google vs small company), region (silicon valley vs rural america) and years of experience (straight out of college vs person with years of experience at google).

Other than the sites mentioned already, which are excellent resources, you can also use https://www.glassdoor.ca/index.htm. That site also has reviews on companies, which also helps in answering the question is the salary going to be worth joining the company

In your day to day life, you are surrounded by code, from the phone you use, to the laptop you use for work/school as well as the traffic lights on your commute. This is an amazing time to get into the field. Median salaries now are starting at around $100,000/year.
