Carolyn’s Answer

In being a lawyer you can help people. That is the reason that most people come to a lawyer so that they can get help. Sure there are big law firms that take on big clients but one of the most rewarding things about being a lawyer is being able to help the "little guy" - someone who really has been wronged by someone else or by a big corporation. Those are the people that it is most rewarding to help. And yes, you can make a lot of money being a lawyer but you have to juggle your time when you are in a job for the money = you sacrifice time with friends and family to be a big name attorney. Not that this is bad, we all make choices and some people make the choice to go after a career that can give them a lot of money, but I find that just being an attorney that helps people of all walks of life is the most rewarding.
