Is it best to get your Associates in Arts degree first, or go straight towards a BA?

I am rather indecisive on whether I should go for my AA first or go straight for a BA #college #degree #degrees

Hi! I think this depends on whether or not you have a four year college in mind. I went to junior college and got an AA degree because I didn't know which four year college I wanted to attend. Then I got a BS/BA after I figured it out. Generally, you get an AA from a junior college and a BS/BA from a four year school. I think it's fine to get an AA first or just go straight to the BA/BS. Hope this helps!

Only you can really answer this question .... It depends on what works best for you!

Things to consider would be admissions requirements, financial aid/scholarships, and transfer policies.

ADMISSIONS: What are the requirements for admission? Are you able to meet those requirements? Do they allow transfer? What are the transfer admissions requirements? Is it more likely that you would meet those?

FINANCIAL AID/SCHOLARSHIPS: How will you pay for college? What scholarships are available to first year students? transfer students? Would it make more sense financially to pay the reduced tuition for two years before transferring to the more expensive four-year? What does your financial aid package (including scholarships) look like? Does it meet your need?

TRANSFER: What are the transfer policies related to admissions, financial aid, and residency? Is reverse transfer encouraged? Are there transfer articulation agreements in place that would ease the transition? Can you meet with advisors from both institutions to learn more?

It will seem like a lot of work, but it will be well worth it to do the work on the front end before making an educated decision that works best for you. At the end of the day, regardless of the path that you took to get there, if you want a bachelor's degree you can obtain a bachelor's degree.

Please don't hesitate to respond and ask additional questions if you have them! I'd be happy to continue to help. All the best to you --
